Lakeside Re-Opening Update 5th February 2021

Re-commencement UPDATE – February 5th 2021

Hi Lakeside Community,

We hope that you have kept well during this challenging past week. There has been a lot happening at once in our state, and our prayers are with you if you have been impacted.

This morning, following the latest announcement from the WA government outlining the new levels of COVID restrictions, basketball WA in support from all associations have decided to suspend indoor basketball competitions for a further week. This will also be consistent across our netball competitions. Although we found it a hard decision to suspend another week of play for our community, we fully support the decision as it is made with the health and well-being of our players, referees, staff and families in mind. This suspension will be in effect from 6 – 14 February when this new level of restrictions is due to end.

Modified Operating Hours up to 15th February:

Monday to Friday: 0600 – 2000

Saturday: 0800 – 1400

Sunday: Closed

All Senior and Junior basketball competitions will be delayed by one more week and will now resume on Monday the 15th of February providing there are no more changes to the current level of restrictions. Our Netball competitions will also be suspended for a further week resuming on the 15th of February.

Aussie Hoops:

Aussie Hoops will resume on Tuesday 9th of February and run as scheduled for that week. There will be the usual sessions on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. Anyone attending lakeside who is over the age of 12 must wear a mask at all times.

WABL/NBL1 Training

NBL1 and WABL training will be going ahead from Sunday 7th and will be running on a slightly revised schedule until the 14th of February. Further communication will be sent out via email to all WABL families today. All players over the age of 12 and parents must wear a mask at all times.

For any inquiries please email WABL@lakeside.asn.au.

Fitness Centre:

The Fitness Centre will reopen on Saturday 6th of February. It is a condition of entry that everyone is wearing a mask in the fitness centre, and classes. There will be a revised class schedule from the 6th – 15th of February. If anyone else would like further information, please email: fitness@lakeside.asn.au

Casual Shooting and Facility Hire:

We will be open for casual shooting, badminton court hire, and volleyball court hire.  If you are interested in this, or any other kind of facility hire, then please phone reception on 9310 7700 to enquire or make a booking.

Please understand that it is a condition of entry that you wear a mask at all times. At Lakeside we are doing our best to keep the community safe and operate within our requirements.  Please support us in this endeavour by following signage and direction from staff.  If you notice something that doesn’t look right, please let us know so we can try to resolve the situation.

Thank you for your continued support of lakeside during these challenging and ever changing times.
