Join Us in Prayer
Prayer is a huge part of our culture here at Lakeside. We have a dedicated prayer team, who pray for people about all kinds of things — big and small, every week. Send us a prayer request below, and of course, we’ll keep your details and prayer request confidential.

A Message From Anthony — Senior Pastor
There is a great story told about early African converts to Christianity. They were earnest and regular in private prayer devotions. Each one reportedly had a separate spot in the thicket where he would pour out his heart to God.
Over time, the paths to these places became well worn. As a result, if one of these believers began to neglect prayer, it was soon apparent to the others. They would kindly remind the negligent one, “Brother, the grass grows on your path”.
Nothing makes more of a difference in your walk with Christ than regular times of prayer. This is also the same when it comes to the church, and the life of the church — nothing makes more of a difference than prayer. We don’t want to have grass growing on our path.
In the Old Testament, not counting the Psalms, there are 77 explicit references to prayer. The pace quickens in the New Testament and there are 94 references alone which relate directly to Jesus and prayer. In the Book of Acts, we see 36 references to the church growing; 21 of those instances are in the context of prayer. We know the importance of prayer and yet we sometimes struggle to pray both individually and corporately.
God gave me an image regarding developing a culture of prayer at Lakeside. One summer I had bought some new plants and put them into some pots. We had a string of 40 degree days and all the plants withered away and died, except one. On closer observation, I noticed that this plant was sitting in water!
The pot was saturated, the soil was saturated. The reason? I had forgotten to take the plug out of the base of the pot that allowed for drainage (I am not very good when it comes to gardening). Apparently, this is important, unless you have had extreme heat for five days straight — then it’s a lifesaver.
It was like God was saying to me, “I want you to saturate the people and the ministries of Lakeside with prayer”. We want to be a people who gather regularly and intentional to saturate the ministry of Lakeside in prayer.
Corporate Prayer — what is it?
Corporate prayer is the term used to describe praying together with other people — in small groups or larger gatherings. Lakeside have two weekly gatherings that meet for prayer, a monthly program, and an annual event.
