Lakeside is excited to be a collection location for the 2024 Heart for the Homeless appeal.

With Perth’s housing crisis continuing, homeless service providers are struggling to provide for those approaching them for assistance. Many of those who are asking for help are people like you and me, who would never have imagined themselves becoming homeless, but who simply can’t find a place to stay.

Imagine enduring a cold and wet winter night in Perth without a roof over your head or a warm place to sleep? Unfortunately, this is a growing reality for thousands of West Australians sleeping rough in our city. But through Sonshine’s Heart for the Homeless you can help!

This May, Sonshine, together with Saint Pat’s, Saint Bart’s, and Uniting WA, are collecting items to show our Heart for the Homeless.

We’re collecting new and clean…

Sleeping bags, tracksuit pants and tops, backpacks, shampoos, conditioners, body wash, soap, deodorant, tampons and pads, underwear, single-pack toothbrushes, toothpaste, razors and socks.

We’re only accepting brand new and in good condition clean items. At this time we’re not collecting food or perishable items.

Last day of collection is COB Friday 24th May 2024 at business and school locations, Sunday 26th May 2024 at church locations.
